When I got my first Rounkin Airpods Max Charging Stand, I wrote that it's the accessory that Apple should include with the headphones. You just put the headphones in the stand when you're not using them - no cables too plug in, no dealing with that weird case that comes with them, you can do it with one hand...The new M3 model is now my fourth Rounkin stand - I ordered others as gifts - and it's even better. There's nothing wrong with the original model, but this one has deeper indentations to hold the headphones, which makes it hard to put them in wrong. The indented area is also softer with more friction ( it's rubberized) and the unit has more mass so it's more stable - again, not that the other ones are unstable. I also like the look.Oh, and the M3 comes with a USB charger, which ensures that it's the right V/W/A. The others require you to bring your own USB charger.These stands come with little magnetic adapters that you plug into the jack on the headphones. It comes with a Lightning one for the original AirPods Max, and a USB-C for the current ones.When using the stand, you want to ensure the magnets on it and the headphones click to make a good connection. The light on the front of the charger is supposed to turn on briefly when you first drop in the headphones (indicating that the magnets have mated properly), but in practice it only seems to do that when the headphones aren't 100% charged.I've had to reset my AirPods Max four times in the 1-1/2 years I've had the original model, when they wouldn't charge. The instructions with the M3 mention that, so I can only assume it's par for the course with these stands.One thing I'm not quite clear about is why this version supports the AirPods Max Sleep Mode, a power-saving feature that turns off Bluetooth and Apple's Find My feature. Maybe it helps preserve the internal rechargeable battery?Summary: the Rounkin M3 is a very clever, well designed product that's even better than the original one. That it's my 4th one says it all - but I said more anyway. :)
