Description

The TreeStand Wingman is a revolutionary fall arrest / emergency descender system that protects hunters from tree stand injury. When coupled with a tree stand safety harness is has been proved to reduce suspension trauma or death from a tree stand related fall. The device can be used while climbing, hunting, & even descending into a tree stand. It protects a hunter from getting stranded in the tree while using a typical tree stand safety harness. TreeStand Wingman will protect against compression injuries, suspension injuries, and fall injuries. Directions 1) Wrap the webbing around the tree and thread through the unit through the end loop in the webbing until the Wingman unit is about 1 foot from the tree. 2) At ground level hook your TMA approved body harness lanyard to the TreeStand Wingman metal loop with a locking carabiner 3) As you move up the tree, move the webbing up with you keeping the slack to a minimum. 4) Upon reaching your hunting height adjust the webbing leaving just enough slack to allow you to sit. (excess slack in the event of a fall will increase the impact force felt on the human body increasing the chance of serious injury or death!!) 5) If you experience a fall during your hunt you can either allow the system to lower you to the ground or slow the descent or stop it by putting pressure on the webbing with your hand. *Substantially lowers risk of compression injuries with smooth, controlled descent. *Fall rate (speed) is fully adjustable - Works for hunters from 70 lbs up to 300 Lbs. *Meets OSHA 1926.502 and ANSI Z351 Safety Standards. *Can be reused. Once deployed, simply rethread and use it again and again. *Unit weighs ONLY 1.4 Lbs.

I have always used the rope and prios knot system that comes with the safety vests. Always fearful of just dangling off a tree while injured, I sought out a new system. A friend recommended this. It is fantastic! Incredibly well made. Now I am much more comfortable while in a treestand knowing that if I fall I will reach the ground safely and easily. Get one. You will be glad that you did.First, the product came much quicker than expected. It is built well and seems to be rock solid. Hopefully I will never have to put it to work, but if I do then I have no doubt that it will slow my fall. I have yet to test, but will update when I do.Update 8/28I tested the product and it took a lot of time to adjust. Got about 6 feet up the tree and jumped off and just hung there and never came down. After about 20 minutes of adjusting, it finally worked like it should. I tested it about 5 times and the line started to fray. I got in contact with black ash, and the said that there was a bad batch of line that was sent out. They gave me a shipping label and said to send it back. They are supposed to restring and recertify the product and send it back. They said that they would have it all set for my weight so I wouldn't have to adjust it. If you bought it watch the line to make sure it doesn't fray on the edgesUpdated 9/23Bleach ash sent me a new one. Tested it out a bunch of time and it was perfect. The line did not fray this time and seemed more durable. It took a while to adjust it to my weight, but after all the adjustments it seems perfect.I bought this for my husband's birthday for him to use when hunting from his tree stand. His prior safety harness would have left him hanging in the tree - better than hitting the ground, but still stranded and susceptible to circulation dangers that occur in such situations. This safety harness is great in that it is designed to slowly lower him to the ground in case of a fall. Thankfully, he hasn't had to try it out in a real emergency, but he is very pleased with its design and security, and it has been easy for him to wear. I feel much better knowing he won't be seriously injured in a fall OR left hanging and stranded in the woods - possibly unable to reach his cell phone, without cell service, or too far away for timely help. I would encourage other hunters who hunt alone to think about that possibility with other methods of restraint. This has eased my mind!I've been hunting for years. I have always had a life life or just the tree strap with a harness. I have never fallen from a stand and hope that my wife and I never do. But this system puts all my worries to ease. I have tested it with my wife and myself about 12 ft up from a ladder. It works perfectly! I can't say enough about this product. Other companies have similar products... but they are not reusable! You can't test the product to make sure it works. These devices work amazing and I know officially exactly what's going to happen if I fall and exactly what it will feel like. I am so confident now in this product that I am more calm and safe in my stand that I actually have the groups on my bow getting tighter. I wouldn't even worry about falling from any height with this system. Research for yourself and you will understand! I wouldn't trust anything else for anyone in my family!Tested it out the first day I got it amazing how well it works. I feel a lot safer hunting way back in the Woods by myself using this device that will lower me to the ground if I fell out of my stand. In the past I've had to worry about if and how long I might dangle from a tree before rescue arrived. Looks like a great quality product , loved being able to test it and see how it work before trusting my life to it in a tree stand. The carrying case is ok but could use stronger zippers and no Velcro(noisy), don't want to lose things out of it on a dark Trail. It is very easy to use and is basically set up ready for you to use when you get it if you weigh over 150 lb . Under a hundred fifty pound you have a little bit of a setup to do nothing major . They're great videos online on how it works and how to use it. Comes with a carrying case roomy enough for a few extra Essentials you might need in a tree. Going on my fourth season with it very impressed with the quality and how well it has held up.I have been using a climbing tree stand for nearly 35 years. I have always wore a harness and been attached to the tree at all times so falling was not really my main concern. When you are up there 25 feet, and you start thinking about, "what if the cable on the stand breaks?" or "what if the stand base falls?". I have run the self rescue thru my mind a thousand times, and the thought of it makes me anxious every time. I know of 2 people that are paralyzed from falls and 1 individual that was found dead in the harness just 3 feet off the ground. Then I watched a video on suspension trauma and that was it.I ordered 2 Wingman's. I tried them out in the garage over the rafters and off a ladder. Very Impressed. Slowly lowered me to the ground just as stated. Repositioning the Wingman back to be used again is a breeze. I now am more comfortable in the stand than ever before. I know that if something were to happen, I would be lower to the ground safely. Highly recommend the Wingman to anyone using a climbing tree stand. The Wingman really does work. It's easy to use and gives you a nice controlled descent to the ground. The instructions that come with it aren't great, but the Wingman website has videos that show you how to set it up and make the adjustments. Plan to test it out with a few practice "falls" in your backyard before you get in the deer stand. Out of the box, the fall was set a little fast for me, but it was easy to adjust, and now it lowers me nice and easy. I'll feel more comfortable than ever in my tree stand this year.
