It's bigger than I expected it to be. It's a pain in the ass to assemble once you get to the top part, the one we received the holes didn't entirely line up so screwing in the knobs was a little hard in a few places. The instructions provided for assembly were terrible. It does however hold my hammock swing very nicely and once I figure out where to situate it on my patio I am sure I will love it.Pretty easy to put together, the instructions were a little confusing because they showed the poles with the holes in the front for the screws but they were in the back (otherwise the overhang piece would have been backwards) but overall it’s sturdy and I’m not worried it will fall. I have it inside only.So the instructions are said to be in six languages but since there are no words printed, it’s really in international language — pictures only. Words would have helped and not sending an extra bag of plastic inserts and supports as I thought I missed a picture somewhere. Note that the max listed weight is 330lbs but that’s only because it has a small bar welded into the corner to support the weight (versions without will be about 220 lbs). I’ve seen a similar product supporting 440 lbs but the welded support bar is thicker and longer but always welded in the angle.Seems sturdy, and was easy to assemble.The downsides are: The loop where your hook attaches is vulnerable because the hook's movement scrapes off the black coating. Since they use terms like "steel" and "rust resistant" I am assuming the metal is carbon steel not stainless steel, and therefore the places without paint will rust. The loop I'm suspended from is the LAST thing I want to rust! So that makes me a bit nervous. Perhaps we'll recoat the loop with rust proofing paint (not sure we're allowed to mention brand names) every couple weeks or something. If I were to design one myself I guess I'd put a teflon sleeve over the loop as that can take friction better than paint can.Another annoyance is that though this is light enough to drag it out of the way for mowing or to chase a patch of shade or sun as you prefer, the feet are not stuck on securely so every time I drag it I have to go back and find them in the grass and stick them back on. I think they're there to avoid scraping the paint off the underside if you set it up on concrete but with how easily they fall off, I suspect they'd not be much help in protecting the tubes if you slid this across your patio. So basically it's NOT portable. As other reviewers have said, the top and bottom sections of the frame are not pinned or screwed together so if you try to carry it you'll have it fall apart on you. So dragging is all you can do to move it.All in all though, looking at other similar items in the same general price range, I still think I made the right choice. Though this is imperfect it is pretty good and a very good price.Keep in mind that you will need to buy the accessories (an S hook, carabiner or spring) to connect this to your chair. Be sure to choose somehting designed for holding humans because if you use, for instance, a hook designed for holding a hanging plant, yikes, you could break your tailbone in a fall.I chose this C stand over the others on Amazon because I liked the fact that the height was adjustable and it seemed to have a good weight limit. After getting it shipped to my home, I found it wasn't as heavy as I anticipated. Yes, it is 40lbs but at 5ft I had no problem carrying it up the stairs by myself. When putting it together it was relatively easily with a few steel pieces and screw knobs instead of the regular flat/phillip head screw. It comes with these caps that go on the bottom of the stand- For added floor support I'm guessing. It doesn't need to be anchored down even as I have it on a carpet floor. The bars sort of just slide into each other so readjusting the height is a process that shouldnt take more than 5 mins. When finally finished assembling the hammock stand I saw that the provided hook is a lot smaller than most of the loops of the hammocks Amazon sells. But the problem was easily mediated by picking up a small chain for a $1 at Home Depot and using that to connect the hammock and snap hook to the stand. Now when I tested the hammock out I was a little nervous because the steel seems to "bend" at the very top of the stand and it makes a small creaking noise. At 103lbs it seems a bit worrying, but I've been sitting in this chair for 3 days now a couple of hours a day and it seems to be holding my weight. I even allow the hammock to gently swing back and forth and nothing has cracked so far. I'd say this is a solid product and I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. I give 4 stars instead of 5 since the metal sort of bends with applied pressure and makes a weird creaking noise sometimes and I don't particularly like that because it makes the stand seem as though it wouldn't truly hold 300+lbs.The stand is everything I expected. It came in a timely fashion and was very easy to assemble.After reading many reviews on different stands, this one fits my needs. It’s not toe stubby and I’m 5’6 and it’s on the lowest height setting and I had to add a another Carabiner just so I could get in and out of it comfortably. Went together in 10 minutes.A little tipsy.Started to rust after a couple months, should by a bag to cover from rainIt a fun swing we take it outside on nice days my grandkids love it and it very safe
